All Fictitious Business Name Registrations are filed centrally with the
Office of the Secretary of State. To file online click
the 'Register A Business' link above.
If you prefer to file a paper form, a listing of the
County Register of Deeds offices is available
here.
Please print the list landscape for the best results. Filing by paper will
require that you contact the county where your business is located.
The Secretary of State's online filing system has been designed to provide the general
public with access to Business Name and Owner information that has been
registered with the Secretary of State's Office or with any of the Register's of
Deeds within the State on and after July 1, 2004. This information is available
on a real-time basis. What does this mean for you? As a user of this site you
will have access to business and owner information as soon as it has been filed
with the Secretary of State's Office.
Notice:
A registration is effective for five years. Registrations filed five
years ago will start to expire shortly. The registration must be renewed
before it expires.
We hope you will find the Business Name Registration System easy to use and that
it provides you with the information you need.
