Emblem Registration

Register an eligible association or organization name, badge, motto, insignia, or other emblem with the Secretary of State.

Eligibility

Organizations that may register

An association, lodge, order, fraternal or beneficial society, historical, military, or veterans' organization, labor union, foundation, federation, or other qualifying society or organization may register a facsimile, duplicate, or description of its name, badge, motto, button, decoration, charm, rosette, or other insignia. A registration may later be altered or cancelled by re-registration.

Submit the completed application with the required sample or facsimile of the emblem.

Fee and filing status

The filing fee is $75. Emblem registrations are perpetual. Incomplete applications or applications without the filing fee will be returned.

Before submitting

Application instructions

  1. Type or print clearly in black ink.
  2. File one copy of the application.
  3. Sign the application and have the signature notarized. The notary's signature and seal must appear on the form.
  4. Include the filing fee and make checks payable to the Secretary of State.
