Household Moving Allowance
New state employees and state employees required to transfer to a new work location may qualify for a household moving allowance.
Who May Qualify
Eligibility and approval
Under South Dakota Codified Law chapter 3-9 and Administrative Rules of South Dakota chapter 5:01:07, an eligible employee may receive a household moving allowance when the allowance is approved by the employee's supervisor and the State Auditor.
Before Submission
Required documents
Submit both items to the State Auditor's Office
- Household Moving Allowance Form (fillable PDF)
- A copy of the offer letter. The offer letter must be submitted with the request form.
