2026 Reporting Calendar

Report deadlines and who files

2025 Year-End

January 30, 2026

Reporting period: Through December 31, 2025.

Who files: Applicable statewide candidates and elected officials, statewide PACs, statewide political parties, and statewide ballot question committees.

Pre-Primary

May 18, 2026

Reporting period: Through May 13, 2026.

Who files: Applicable statewide committees and officials, legislative candidates and committees, and covered county candidates and committees.

Pre-General

October 19, 2026

Reporting period: Through October 14, 2026.

Who files: Applicable statewide, legislative, and covered county candidates and committees; county political parties; and auxiliary organizations.

2026 Year-End

January 29, 2027

Reporting period: Through December 31, 2026.

Who files: Applicable statewide, legislative, and covered county candidates and committees.

Late filing penalties

The Secretary of State may impose a $200 civil penalty for each failure to timely file a required statement, amendment, or correction. A violation by a county political party or auxiliary organization may carry a $50 civil penalty. Additional penalties may apply.

Where to File

State and local filings

Secretary of State

Statewide PACs, political parties, ballot question committees, statewide candidate committees, legislative candidate committees, and county or auxiliary political parties.

Local Election Official

Covered county, municipal, and school candidates and committees file with the applicable local election official.

Online Reporting System

Committees filing with the Secretary of State may use CFRS to organize, submit reports, and update committee information.
